What can you expect from a Singing Mamas group?
It's all about making YOU feel good.
THIS GROUP IS FOR ALL WOMEN, WITH OR WITHOUT CHILDREN
There are no auditions, no solos, no reading music. Just simple songs taught by ear. Your leader will sing the songs line by line and the group will echo it back, until everyone knows it off by heart. (Then we might add a harmony or two!). Children are welcome and we always make time for a cuppa and some cake.
Improve Mood
Singing is proven to release 'happy hormones' and act as a natural anti-depressant.
Reduce Stress
Gentle lullabies will soothe your nervous system (as well as your little one!)
Find Connection
Tune in to yourself and your little one whilst you connect with other women.

Expect a warm welcome along with some tea and cake.
Why we sing
There's so much evidence about the benefits of singing to people's physical and mental health. In fact, a researcher we work with ran a clinical trial that proved that group singing was more effective in treating post-natal depression than the usual forms of treatment! You'll lower your stress levels, improve your mood and increase your bond with your baby.
the evidence?
Group singing reduces symptoms of postnatal depression faster than the usual forms of treatment. These findings are taken from a 3-arm randomised control trial published in the British Journal of Psychiatry in February 2018 (authors D. Fancourt and R. Perkins).
The study highlighted that 73% mums who took part in a 10 week programme of group singing recovered from postnatal depression, and that participating mums also reported an increase in self-esteem, confidence and bonding.
How to join
Find the group nearest to you and get in touch with your me.
